Life Unexpected Season 3

Essentially, I would recommend watching two episodes per day, because the drama can be a bit much in watching many episodes back to back, but that is just me. Quality exploration of conventional human life and love through the eyes of a 16 year old girl who had been told and shown that she was an outcast from conventional society but then proved otherwise when she went to her biological parents to have herself declared an emancipated minor. The story was told with many of the tripwires of conventional society clearly recounted and demonstrated hence it was as the title suggested 'Life Unexpected'. This review written after viewing the entirety of Season 1 and Season 2. I thought the second season was a little more satisfying than the first, as we learned more about Lux's past.

In September, she said, “Obviously if you were doing the end of this story, what I feel the fans want are Cate and Baze together, so that would be a natural series end in someway. Unfortunately, that is not going to to happen by episode 13, at least I don’t think in an artful way. So we’re just going to hope for more and if 13 ends up being our last one we will have some closure, it will feel good and the end, but it won’t be the true end. Should The CW have renewed or canceled Life Unexpected last spring? Why have so many viewers stopped watching? How would you like the series to end?

It's pretty good. Not believable in many instances, but pretty good. I know of other shows with the same not - quite - five - star tendency: they write teenage characters who regularly outscore the adults in maturity, without sufficient explanation for this very rare anomaly. When conflict resolution appears in the plot, the teenagers are forward-looking and selfless, while the adults lack any such virtues. I would not necessarily suggest a reversal of those roles. In reality, adults often fall short as well. But writing a teenager who was raised in multiple foster homes, yet who regularly out-wises the adults around her requies some substantiation in the back story.

The ratings have just gone too low. Series creator Liz Tigelaar thinks so too. She told the back in September that she believed that, if they didn’t get an order for a full season, the show was finished. The season (likely series) finale will air in January. Is reporting that the writers are treating it like the series finale and will wrap up many of the ongoing storylines.

Same as Season 1, this show proves to me ( my wife reminds me of that as well) that I am too 'serious-minded' & place way too much value on authenticity. It's been a while since I was a '30-Something', but I'm sure I wasn't anywhere as close to immature as these folks are. They all seem to exercise serious lack of good judgement & place little value on honesty.

After a season of lackluster ratings, The CW took a chance last May and renewed for year two. They hoped that the audience would grow this season but it certainly hasn’t. Season one of averaged 2.0 million viewers and a 1.6 in the network’s target demographic of women 18-34. This season, the show’s lost more than half of the demo audience, averaging just a 0.7 rating with 1.53 million viewers. As the network’s lowest rated show, CW execs asked for a couple additional scripts but didn’t order them into production. Life Unexpected is the only series on the network that’s been limited to 13 episodes this season.

It’s no secret that ratings have dipped in its second season – or that they were never spectacular to begin with, even by the CW’s standards. The show has hovered perpetually in the “not dead yet” zone – and it looks like it’s going to stay there for a few more months. Officially, The CW has not canceled the show, but this isn’t out of the ordinary. In fact, there will probably never be an official cancellation statement – more likely we simply won’t see “Life Unexpected” on the Fall 2011 schedule when it’s announced in May at the network Upfronts.

Autoplay On Off Description: Welcome to a new life, Lux Cassidy. A family court judge unites Lux with Cate, the former teenage mom who gave baby Lux up for adoption almost 16 years earlier, and Baze, the dad who never knew she existed. Cate is now a commitment-wary Portland radio personality with fabulous fiance Ryan. Baze is a good-natured goof-off with slacker pals Math and Jamie to hang out with and a bar to run. She's a self-reliant foster kid weary of bouncing from home to home - and not sure her unexpected new life is going to work out any better. What does it take to make a family? The answers begin to surface in this smart, warm-hearted, critically acclaimed series offering stories you can believe in and characters you can love.

And now I'm hooked. In the best possible way. Life Unexpected has succeeded in being it's own show, although I do think the comparisons are appropriate. Despite the plot being the main selling point in the commercials, it is a very character-driven show (which is good, because how slowly can you burn out the 'just met my daughter' thing? Not very slowly.) One complaint I did have, though, is that it cheeses out at the end of almost every episode.

Her family, comprised of Ryan and Julia (a couple) and their son, and Cate and Baze (also a couple). Even Math’s girlfriend was preggo. Lux was with Jones (who has really been the right guy all along) and Tasha was juvie-free and college bound. There’s not really anywhere to go from such a neatly bound wrap-up. Additionally, a “Complete Series” DVD release, with all 26 episodes, has been scheduled for April 5 via Warner Home Video, and ‘s holding deal with CBS is a pretty clear indicator that they’re making final “Life Unexpected” arrangements. “There’s always a little hope,” creator told Zap2it, when we asked if it was still worth it for fans to campaign and petition.

I know, that is what the show is about, right? The producers need to work a bit more on authenticity & realism, as they include way too many 'Who does that?' For example, 1.' Why would a 'Talk Radio' station promote a 'Music Concert'?
